Slow Fashion Day Fundraising Workshops with Sew Loka + Chris Carson

Join us at the San Diego Made Factory on Saturday, August 29 for Slow Fashion Day, a full day of hands-on workshops celebrating creativity, clothing repair, personal style, and more sustainable ways to refresh your wardrobe.

From 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Claudia of Sew Loka will lead Sew Your Own Tote Bag: Deluxe Edition. Participants will create a brand-new tote bag design and receive an exclusive Slow Fashion Day patch.

From 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., Chris Carson will host Rework Your Clothing: The Homegrown Project SD Edition. Bring an item from your closet and learn how to give it new life through patching, appliqué, tie-dye, and other creative techniques. An exclusive Slow Fashion Day patch is also included.

Each workshop has a suggested donation of $45. All donations go directly to the Clare Rose Foundation for Youth Development, Sew Loka’s nonprofit fiscal sponsor.

Donate What You Can embroidery kits will also be available throughout the day, featuring an exclusive Slow Fashion Day design created by San Diego artist Selena Idioma. Coffee will be available from 18 Cities Coffee.
