Program Overview
The Sustainable ’Hood is designed for students and community members who want to deepen their understanding of environmental justice, build leadership skills, and explore real pathways into climate-related education, careers, and community action.
Throughout the day, you’ll:
Build on your foundations of sustainability, climate justice, and leadership;
Explore pathways into college, careers, and community involvement;
Recognize and celebrate others for their achievements; and
Connect with organizations, mentors, and opportunities at the mixer.
What to Expect
Morning: Interactive sustainability & leadership training
Midday: Lunch + reflection + recognition ceremony
Afternoon: Career & college networking mixer
Outcomes
You’ll leave with:
A stronger understanding of sustainability and climate leadership roles;
Clearer next steps for your future (college, career, or community); and
New connections with peers, mentors, and organizations.
Recognition Ceremony
If you completed a program with one of the partner organizations since June 2025 (i.e. Climate Ambassador, Carbon Literacy, Energy Equity 101, Community Clean Energy Microcredential, etc.), you will be recognized for your commitment to learning, leadership, and community impact!
Networking
This experience is designed to support your next steps and connect you to real opportunities in the sustainability space. You will have the opportunity to connect with:

Local sustainability organizations
Employers and possible mentors
